The classic stretch of Norway's Coastal Route weaves between fjord, farmland and a scatter of thousands of islands from Brønnøysund to Sandnessjøen, stitched together by two relaxed ferry crossings. The reward at the northern end is the saw-toothed silhouette of the Seven Sisters range rising straight from the sea.

- St1 Brønnøysund fuel — Fill in Brønnøysund before the two ferry hops north; services sit in the towns, not on the skerries.
- Forvik ferjekai viewpoint — South quay of the Forvik–Tjøtta crossing, with the Seven Sisters rising ahead.
- Sandnessjøen viewpoint — Town quay under the Seven Sisters at the north end of this Fv17 stretch.
- Torghatten viewpoint — Hole-in-the-mountain trailhead 15 km south of Brønnøysund — a short signed spur off Fv17.
