Where to stop on the Iceland Ring Road
- Seljalandsfoss viewpoint — 60 m fall you can walk behind; a 1 km spur off Route 1, not the Golden Circle.
- N1 Kirkjubæjarklaustur fuel — Fill here — one of the longest Ring Road gaps is Klaustur to Höfn, with little in between.
- Jökulsárlón viewpoint — Icebergs calving beside Route 1; Diamond Beach is the black-sand shore across the road.
- Pakkhús Restaurant food — Langoustine house on Höfn harbour — the east-coast lunch stop after the glacier lagoon.
- Bláa Kannan café — Independent café on Hafnarstræti in Akureyri, the Ring Road’s northern hub.
