Dolomites Long Weekend

4 days · 6 driving roads · 111 miles of them · best June–September

The Sella Ronda and the roads around it. Four passes in a single loop — Sella, Gardena, Pordoi and Campolongo — under limestone towers that go pink at sunset, plus the Giau and Falzarego on the Great Dolomites Road toward Cortina. Short distances, enormous drama.

Getting there

Eurotunnel Le Shuttle — Eurotunnel, about 36 min, up to 4/hour. Check sailings.

Worth knowing: The Sella passes close to traffic on some summer days for cycling events — worth checking dates. Everything is close together here, so distances are short and the days are about the driving, not the mileage.
