Three days around Kranjska Gora and Bovec. Vršič is fifty numbered hairpins, half of them cobbled; Predil comes in from Tarvisio; Mangart is the dead-end toll shelf to 2,055 m. Eurotunnel Le Shuttle — Eurotunnel, about 36 min, up to 4/hour. Check sailings.

Worth knowing: Vršič and Mangart close in winter, typically into May or June. Mangart is a toll, a dead-end, and last fuel is in Bovec — five miles back from Log pod Mangartom. Vršič's cobbles are slippery in the wet and shared with cyclists. Predil is a border; take passports. The existing Alps trip does not come here. Fuel in Kranjska Gora, Tarvisio and Bovec.
