Peloponnese & Lefkada Cliffs

The southern mainland and the island you can drive onto. Epidaurus along the Argolic coast from Corinth, the Mani from Sparta to Monemvasia, then the Lefkada west-cliffs road from Kalamitsi down to Porto Katsiki. Overnight in Nafplio or Epidavros, then Gytheio or Areopoli, then Athani. Four days of heat, stone, and a floating bridge onto Lefkada.

Getting there

⛴ Eurotunnel Le Shuttle — Eurotunnel, about 36 min, up to 4/hour. Check sailings.

Worth knowing: Lefkada is connected by a floating causeway; no ferry required, but the island road to Athani is narrow and melting in August. Mani is longer than it looks — 60 miles of slow town and tower-house villages. Epidavros has the theatre as a spur inland; the EO70 is the coast. Fuel in Corinth, Sparta, Gytheio and Lefkada town — nothing on the cliff road. Summer is 35°C and tour buses. The UK crossing is a long haul; same caveat as Epirus.
