The historic Asturias–León crossing of the Cordillera Cantábrica, left almost deserted since the AP-66 motorway took the traffic. Climb from Campomanes past Puente de los Fierros to the 1,378 m puerto, then sweep down the high León side to Villamanín on a road you will likely have to yourselves.
